Val came by to pick up Rajani's toy this morning. I told her I'd looked it over and didn't find any evidence of there being an audio feed to the scrying device. I asked about what she and Rajani had talked about mind-to-mind and after I'd left to take a call, and Val told me how Rajani and her mentor had been pursuing plastic-face for years now. (And there seems to be no mentor visible at the moment--unless he too turns invisible like the tiger. Jesus. I need eyes in the back of my head these days: need to watch every time I leave a meeting and definitely before going home.) Val suspected I could look in on dreams because I mentioned Mouse doing it. Okay, yes, I can. But I didn't tell her I could. She poked again and said I was dodging the question, so told her that, yes, I was dodging the question. this could turn into a game, albiet.... Maybe not. It's a little passive aggressive.
Ended up driving Val home as she was wiped out. Mouse called and we arranged to have coffee and catch up. She managed to put the caern to sleep, despite not knowing what the ritual was. Impressive. It also appears that her challenge for greater status involves her going off, learning how to create a caern (!!!!!), and then doing so. She mentioned the name "Claire" a few times, but I'm not sure who or what she's talking about. I offered to help. It's in my own best interests to preserve my own access to a node in the city rather than to lose it because of wolves pissing all over it. I suppose I could make their lives hell because it is a public area and I've got police contacts and know how to create and plant evidence, but.... So much easier to just share. Mouse seems to think I'll be able to share. Also, maybe this will strengthen and empower the Harbor Park node.
Something I didn't tell Mouse? She's talking as if the caern might not necessarily be in the park where everyone seems to think it might be. I heard her talk about a fountain being in their visions. There's the possibility that it might be Osprey Circle in the historic district, but.... I don't care to reveal that as a place of power to the garou. I want a fall-back node in case the garou are not the sharing type and/or if they end up destroying the node.
