Got a call this morning from Shelby, wanting to meet and talk "business" business. She asked if I knew about Edgewood, to which I said nope. I got served up a street address and, viola, they've apparently got a new farmhouse location to replace the one that burnt to a crisp. I felt like a fox in a henhouse, except I was the hen in a fox suit and it was a foxhouse. Or something.

Anyway, we didn't get a chance to talk really, because Dirk came downstairs and Shelby and him got to talking while I fixed coffee for them (like a good little kinfolk). Then, as I took the coffee out, Emma walks in the front door, saw me, and turned right around and took off. I think I faked not knowing she was garou fairly well, but we'll see. She might have been a little wigged because she might have thought I was garou, maybe had the hots for me, and garou-on-garou relations are considered taboo. That might have been a shock. She might not have thought "kinfolk." Or.... Well, there's just no telling what goes on in female's minds. (Unless, of course, you read them with some Mind magick, Nick. But... rude much?)

And then this other guy shows up right as Emma bails. Monkey-Brain. And he's apparently a Red Talon and they are all wolf born, so.... But he seemed sort of decent, I guess. He'd be interesting to talk to, I think. Get a different perspective on things.

But then my phone went off, work emergency (a contact had spotted a missing kid I was looking for), and I had to bail--right as Shelby was saying that another kinfolk, Tristan, might be calling me.

After leaving the place and getting about a mile away, I pulled the car over, did some remote scrying with a blend of Time and Correspondence, and examined Dirk. VERY interesting. He is time-displaced, not just faking it or pulling a fast one over everyone. That's... interesting. I know very powerful mages can use Time magick to pull things out of the past or future, but I didn't know it could happen accidentally in the spirit world. And I'd never seen a time-displaced item or person before. Kind of neat in a way.
