Saturday night, while I was reading a book outside of the Winnebago, Val dropped by on her motorcycle. She handed me a stack of papers, said she'd finally decided to go on her umbral trip with that stormcrow she'd saved, The papers? Documents in case she doesn't come back--and she left me with her new Harley and a key to her apartment to watch over. It unnerved me a little, so I went inside and quickly consulted the magic 8-ball to see if Val'd be back. "Without a doubt." Comforting. She thinks she'll be back in September or October. If she's not back by November, I'm going to take a couple personal items of hers that have good resonance and go seek out a garou who can do that trick where they can tell what direction someone is in--and track that bird's ass down. She did say she'd be popping in and out of the spirit worlds from time to time and would send postcards. Those'll definitely make me more at ease. I hope she has a safe and wonderful trip.

Sunday night I ventured over to the tenement to make good on that delivery of milk and cereal that I promised Salem I'd deliver for the tribe. I ran into Kavi and Ex talking. Kavi was messed up a little bit. Apparently there'd been some kind of fight recently where Devon wigged out. Ex apparently shifted and couldn't remember what happened. She asked Kavi why garou's claws caused damage that took longer to heal than other wounds, and Kavi said he didn't know. I almost interjected that it was the intersection of their physical claws with the garou's spiritual resonance and their strong prime signature. That would have been a little awkward..Devon, it turns out, flipped his wig because a vampire'd messed with his head. I couldn't get any details out of Kavi, and then Rina and Flint showed up, Ex started getting a little wiggy from all the people present, and I decided that was a good time for me to exit.

Monday morning, I popped over to the tenement to see about fishing for more information about that vampire that messed with Devon's head. I ran into Flint, who.... is really frustrating trying to have a verbal conversation with--kind of like Kavi. I finally gave up asking about the vampire--no clue if Flint knows anything or not--and then talked with Flint in general terms. I told him I thought Kavi was doing a pretty good job with Ex and that, if Kavi wasn't already kind of a mentor to Flint, Flint ought to try and learn from him. The two clearly get along very well and have a lot in common. That's good. I suspect one of the reasons the Walkers are so cohesive is that they (generally) like and support one another.

Tuesday I ran into Mr. Lee at Harbor Park--interrupting my tass harvesting from the node. Ah, well. We'd barely started talking when this woman, May Lin, walked by. I recognized her as being a member of the Terminus Group. It turns out that she's Shadow Lord kinfolk, so we all introduced ourselves: 1 kinfolk, 1 warper posing as a kinfolk, and 1 kitsune posing as kinfolk. (Although Mr. Lee mentioned something about, in the pre-European days of America, garou and medicine men working in the open with the humans--no Veil. I wonder if he considers himself to be a medicine man? We had coffee together, as well as a nice, pleasant chat. Although, honestly, May Lin seems so focused on being the best employee/servant that she can be that she has no life outside of her corporate one. She's... kind of robotic. Mr. Lee, as things were winding up, folded an origami frog. REALLY unusual for someone so apparently opposed to non-natives/Europeans. Ties in with Rajani (the kitsune who was around before Mr. Lee) and her paper magic. Odd, this kitsune fixation on paper.

I was hoping to head out into the spirit world tonight, but the moon is less than half and Salem advised staying out of that mess as it gets dangerous. I did get Salem's blessing to go eyeball Devon's brain to see if that vampire screwed with his mind any.

And Val mentioned that Riley got whacked by some kind of dragon-thing in the spirit world--and it changed him into a her. Permanently. This was likely the same thing that nailed Mouse, and I was able to partially fix her. Maybe I could partially jigger Riley's gender back to what it was? I'll check with Salem about that before I do anything.
