FUUUUUUUuuuh.... Oh, that wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be.

Sunday morning, I picked Carmen up, drove her out to go look at a car in Seattle, Kicked the tires (magically, too) and it looked pretty damn solid other than a few minor little quibbles. Got herself a good deal, there. And it's not a bad looking car. Won't be terribly fuel efficient, but that's coming from someone whose Porsche gets all of 18 MPG. Thirsty. We stopped off to get some fresh roasted coffee at a couple places, then headed back to St. Claire so Carmen could get a good night's sleep and be at work on time Monday. I shadowed her on the drive home and her new car did just fine.

Sunday night, Charley came over. I built a fire (ready-to-channel energy) and loaned him my talisman so he could cross over to the spirit world and experiment a bit on his own while I did overwatch. It was pretty uneventful and I do believe he really enjoyed himself. I was a little jealous: I was seriously jonesing to play with some Forces. Been dreaming about flying again. I should meet with Charley at some point at the sanctum. He's interested in Prime, and I bet I could give him a pointer or two by first linking minds with him and then manipulating things via Prime magic--allowing him to sense what I sense and feel what I feel when I mess with Prime. That might help him a bit.

Tuesday the moon was getting around nearish the halfway point, so I called up Charlene, told her I'd meet her at Edgewood, and delivered the sign language book to her. (It has a whole chapter on vulgar signing--I had to review that before I handed it over.) Samantha, the Wendigo who I thought might have mugged me a couple months ago to swipe my car and escape, showed up. She's been rited and seemed to be a great deal more stable and settled--and has even taken to the wilderness. Perhaps she's proud of her newfound self-sufficiency? She seemed puzzled as to why Charlene and I were outside sitting around a fire instead of inside the house. Charlene said she was a Fury and thus had strong ties to nature. I might have blown Samantha's mind a bit: a Glass Walker kin claiming to enjoy living in the isolated wilderness (but who also enjoyed the city's offerings). I said it was like how the garou could chose to be just wolf, just human, or use multiple forms as the needs or their whims dictated. Of course.... I guess I'm not really true Glass Walker kin, either. Details, details. Samantha talked a bit about her rite of passage and how she fought a newly change gurahl and survived. She also bemoaned that the guy was cute. Led me to ask if there were any rules prohibiting garou from boffing non-wolf shifters. Charlene and Samantha didn't seem to know, but seemed to think it might not be a good idea. Proooobably not.

I dropped by Edgewood again that evening to drop off a case of toilet paper (noticed they were almost out and civilization starts to collapse when there's no TP). Spotted Mr. Lee out in the meadow behind the house with no shirt on and.... His coat radiates magic. I went to go check on him and it turns out he was just finishing up a run. Kier--the blind Stargazer--turned up and apparently Mr. Lee hadn't met him before. He did some kind of sensing magic. I raised some shields to mask my presence, and then.... You know that feeling you get when you fumble something in your hands and you know you're about to drop it but you flail at it anyway? I fucked up the masking magic. I glowed like a fucking Christmas tree in a dark room. There was no way in hell he missed that--and he did look right at me. Couldn't stop the glow, either. (Hell, it just died down this afternoon.) Fortunately, nothing really came of it. I think Mr. Lee'd either known or strongly suspected before, so I doubt it truly came as a shock to either of us. He later, after we were alone again, said he'd kept it a secret--and warned me to be careful around any Uktena, Foxes, or Cats. Apparently those are the ones who tend to have the "That's a mage!" trick. Good to know. He also warned that not every one of the Foxes would necessary be tolerant like he was. Also good to know.

Idle chat with Kier, then Samantha came out with Reed--who turned out to be the kid who tried to pickpocket Charley the other week. Wonder if the other cub they found was with him and if it was the girl he was with? Samantha poked at him, he got mad, and right as it seemed like he might pop, Thomas was all over him--and knocked him out. Note to self: best to keep some distance from the shifters who can move like that. (They don't all seem to be capable of doing it. Smells a bit of Time magic. I might need to go back later and rewatch the event as it occurred, this time paying closer attention to the static magic Thomas used.) That pretty much wound up the evening. Samantha took Reed inside, Kier left, Thomas had our brief talk, Samantha returned, and then we all went out separate ways after a brief series of farewells.
