Seven Deadly Exes. Minus six. And minus the deadly. But add irate.
Was in the park at the node there yesterday when Val showed up. And then Thomas. And then Naomi. Thomas had initially been headed towards Val and I, but then detoured to chat with Naomi. I am pretty sure he has the hots for her. (Of course, Thomas told me that with the fox-shifters, if they have offspring that breeds true, then one of the parents dies--and it's typically the non-shifter. That's just fucking brutal.) Anyway, this guy turns up looking for Val and he's pissed off about how she ruined his marriage. It would seem she took incriminating pictures while doing work for the PI firm. I pulled out my smartphone to record it. Generally, when people realize they're being recorded, they start behaving better. No one wants to look like an idiot in a court video--or on the internet. This other guy I'd never seen before intervened on Val's behalf. No idea who he was, but... angry. Thomas intervened and told them both to calm down, but seemed more concerned about the guy protecting Val than the guy who'd started the whole thing. I didn't bother checking to see if he was garou or something else, as I pulled a Jedi Mind Trick on him: urged him to stop, go home, and rethink his life. Or, well, his current actions and the consequences thereof. I'd have hung around a little bit more, but I wanted to tail the ex-husband type after he left, skimming his surface thoughts, to make sure he wasn't about to start some shit or escalate it even more. He's still pissed, but he doesn't seem murderous or violent anymore. I left him alone, not wanting to overly screw with the git's head.
Sent Mouse an e-mail about me disappearing Saturday morning and that I was headed to Seattle on business. I hope she doesn't worry too much. I suspect she is going to worry too much. But I can handle myself fairly well so long as I'm not asked to kill and not stuck in the front lines. Need to talk to Charley to see if he's interested in lending a hand with this.
