Scattered thoughts. Metal doors. Something stinks.
I tried doing some foretelling (Time magick) last night via a ritual on the Tenement roof, trying to see if I was in danger from BSDs from Seattle using that car to track back to Seattle. The 8-ball yielded an "ASK AGAIN LATER" result. I wanted to chuck it off the side of the roof, but I didn't. I wonder if living in such close proximity to garou might be subconsciously giving me anger issues?
Val turned up with a young raven she called Bartok. Then Mouse turned up. Val and Mouse did most of the talking at that point and I just listened.
Naomi claims to be a Glass Walker ragabash who'd had her wolf stolen and who was now on the run trying to be and act like a regular human while still working to kill the occasional bad guy via sniper rifle. And Naomi was being tight-lipped about providing references. Val said she passed Truth of Gaia, but I pointed out that that gift can fail and be defeated (although I left out that I had enough practice to do so--thanks to Salem offering some practice sessions with it and other sensory gifts some garou have). Mouse concurred that it smelled fishy and mentioned that there is a punishment rite the garou have that allows them to steal a garou's wolf. I'm still leaning towards Hunter. Val's.... I'm not entirely sure where she is on this one. Mouse is going to use tribal contacts to look her up. If Mouse does go to meet her, I'm going on overwatch from afar. You think a military spec ops sniper is bad ass? You ain't seen nothin' yet, sister.
Coincidentally (and this is one hell of a coincidence), it seems like a local garou named KL was stabbed by a knife which--it's hard to say for certain--either caused her to lose the ability to shift (trapping her in her birth form) or forced her back to her breed form for an indeterminate quantity of time. KL is in possession of the knife, but Mouse is going to take a peek at it, and I got the impression they want me to look at it, too. The knife, from what they've said, doesn't seem like a fetish. It might be a mage's talisman. Mouse seems reluctant to allow it into my hands--at least before this meeting with Jacinta is over. (I can see how showing up to the meet with a this-can-steal-your-powers weapon might not go over well with Jacinta.) If it is a talisman, I'm going to petition to have it given to me. In the past, when Dana and I recovered a fetish from SCCU's archaeology vault, we gave it back to the garou and got nothing in exchange. It just seems fair that if they get a mage talisman, they should give it to the mages.
If not, I can think of a couple ways I could simply take it from them.
Oh, wow. Evil thought! WTF did that come from?
Talked a little bit more with Mouse about Jacinta after Val left. Mouse seems to think that Jacinta's not interested in killing me and that she realizes that there are good mages like the Dreamspeakers affiliated with her own tribe/kin. Mouse seems prepared to go to war with other garou if they come after me with no good reason. I thanked her and assured her I'd likewise work to defend the local Glass Walkers as well, and that even if I wouldn't kill foes, I would work to incapacitate or weaken them for the Walkers.
Moon is getting fuller. I'm installing a reinforced metal security door and a reinforced metal door frame for my apartment on the 5th floor of the tenement safehouse. Sure, I'm surrounded by friendly Glass Walkers, but they're still garou and they're still full of rage. The new door will take them a little time to get through if there's a frenzy.
