Spokane, teaching Orphans, and failing at being in St. Claire.
The past two months have been kind of interesting. I rigged up an interior motion sensor at my cabin along with some proximity cameras outside--to let me know if any garou were turning up there ever since I was outted to Jacinta and Elliot. I've had a herd of deer through there, as well as a black bear (!!!) and a family of racoons, but no humans or wolves or werewolves. That is very, very promising. It kind of indicates that, if Jacinta and/or Elliot told anyone about me, no one showed up to start some shit.
I've been kind of a ghost at the tenement, too. On September , I got a call from a pair of Orphan mages over in Spokane, Washington. (Remember when the Orphans almost all lumped together as Hollow Ones? I think they're slowly going out of style. Soooo glad I only joined them for about a year before I came to my senses and reverted back to Orphan status.)
It's interesting. Ever since I started poking my head out, reaching out to help other mages via my contacts in Seattle and San Fran, it's.... You know, it's kind of like suddenly people decided I was a competent and accomplished mage--despite being outside of the Traditions. Sure, I still get some shit from Tradition mages, but I can also see there's some level of respect there as well.
My head is going to swell if this keeps up.
Anyway, so Jack (an 18 y/o Apprentice of Mind and Life) and Yvette (a 17 y/o Apprentice of Prime and Life), the two Orphans in Spokane, were having some trouble getting the local cabal members--all Traditionalists--to work with them. So I spent about two months over there showing them the basics of Correspondence and Forces magic. Jack seems a bit smarter, as he seemed to pick things up quicker than Yvette, but both of them seem to be making progress on their own now--having overcome the initial hurdles. (Combining Mind magick to share thoughts--along with Prime and Force/Correspondence perceptions--really makes describing how I make magic work much easier to describe.) They've got my number if they run into any stumbling blocks. Also, They both got a quick jaunt across the gauntlet to visit the spirit world. That seemed to be a real thrill for them both.
Headed back to St. Claire now. Should probably hook up with Riley. Haven't heard from Emma in a while, either. Sheesh. I suck, but teaching another mage--or two mages in this instance--is kind of demanding.
I was in St. Claire about three weeks ago, briefly, when I bumped into Maddie and Ky. Ky at Phoenix Park talking to some kid who had a cockroach wired up with one of those remote control dealies I'd seen on the internet before. There's apparently a place in town that sells a do-it-yourself cybernetic remote controlled cockroach kit. Eh. Roaches. I know I'm supposed to be a Walker, but, seriously, it's just a roach. There're bazillions of them. Still, I figured that merited at least an e-mail to the tribe, so I slung that info their way for them to chew on.
