Val? Shot. Worm fomor? Resurrected. Silvertip? Back and jacked up. Naomi? Set up. Emma? Shackin'

Fortunately, having glow-in-the-day/night eyes wore off after a day, though I'd canceled date night with Emma by then. And then there was a work-related emergency to deal with. Terminus this time. One of my alarms for "hey, you might want to check on this stock's situation" went off. I went in to work. Took a break. Went to the park. Ran into Thomas and Naomi. Thomas said that the fomor that'd he and Val had killed a few weeks ago had come back from the dead. It's something called a Hollow One (no relation to the unofficial Mage Tradition of a coalition of Orphans In Black that I'd--briefly--joined for about a year aaaages ago). Hollow Ones are kind of like a human-like bag of flesh that holds a bunch of worms--possibly tainted worms--and other nasty stuff (judging by the acidic crap the thing hurled up earlier). If one of the worms survives, the Hollow One can reconstitute itself over time. I imagine this is not terribly easy nor quick to do, but... This thing will be damn hard to kill. How did Thomas know all this? He heard it from Val, who'd run into the guy on the street, and got shot by him--and he killed a nearby bystander. So it knows both Thomas and Val. Some dipshit--an ex-spec ops guy who retired in the area and knew Naomi--made an ass of himself. Thomas finally drove the guy off, but I suspect that's not the last of him. (It'd be so easy to just kill him, but that's wrong, Nick. That's wrong. Dark Side thoughts. Dark Side thoughts are bad.) I'd have hung around a little longer, but another alert popped up. Stock market was all over the place. Back to work.

A couple days later I met up with Naomi, gave her a tour of the tenement, and set her up with access to the building and the fifth floor, and established her an account on the local WalkerNet. She asked about a shrink she might be able to talk to. I suggested Salem or Mouse (when she gets back). I told her I could lend a sympathetic ear in a pinch, but was not very qualified in that area. (Technically, I suspect I'd be amazing at it with a little Dreaming and some Mind magick, but I'm laying low here. Besides. I can't just go around solving all the Walkers' problems for them. I have other things to do.)

Wednesday night I went to go check on Val at Snakes and Lattes' upstairs apartment. She'd healed up from the gunshot wound and was laying low--afraid that she might expose herself and potentially others if she goes outside in a form that's not that of a raven. She also mentioned that Silvertip was back, that he--now a she (what is it with garou getting sex changes?)--had been to the Flux realm, and it'd messed him/her up. Gender swap, two tails, Time dilating and compressing around him at random. She mentioned me looking around the place with magic. I did. The fridge glowed inside. Time, Spirit, Entropy--but creative not destructive Entropy. All radiating out of... a severed wolf's tail. Silvertip bit it off. I imagine that must have hurt. Also? A box of timers off in one corner, yielding some milder static magic. Val seems to think she might be able to make a talen to help out Silvertip. I told her to let me know if she needed any additional help, and then asked if she thought Silvertip might attempt to reclaim Alpha status from Elliot. I wonder, if that happens, if Elliot will tell him/her about me? I suspect Jacinta will if Elliot does not. Eh. We'll see. Val's mentioned in the past that Silvertip is pretty open-minded. Val and I then settled down for a marathon session of Mario Kart. Just because. (And seriously, that game has no right to be that fun.)

Friday, Emma and I finally manage to have that postponed date. It went well and we almost completely steered clear of not-normal topics. Lunch at Dark Wine and Roses' cafe. Three rounds of go-kart racing (I won all three times, but she was getting closer towards the end--and she told me not to throw a race so I didn't). Movie: Disney's Frozen for some light-hearted fun. Dinner at the Rat and Raven. Then off to my place for...dessert. I should sneak back up to bed before she wakes up.
