Damn, that was some quality LSD. Magical purification and enhancement, for the win. I'll bet Ila's seen or tried something similar in the past. I'm a little stunned it took me this long to have a lightbulb moment about using Matter magic followed by a dash of Prime to enhance this stuff. Hell, it's not like I don't have vampire blood enhanced ecstasy pills stashed at Kenwards Curios.
This afternoon I headed to the city to get some really good coffee and unwind and sort things out in my head. A little meditation in Harbor Park at the node there seemed ideal. The place was mercifully nigh-deserted for a while and I was able to sift through a lot of things. And then Trixie showed up. Very short native American type woman in her early 20s, I'd guess. Vagabond-like. Went up to a tree and pet it. (I like touching objects, too. Resonance. Makes them feel more real to me.) Then headed over towards the fountain. We got to talking, her grammar was.... clearly not a native English speaker and I could not place her accent as being from anywhere. Deranged? Mentally damaged? She seemed harmless up until she mentioned a few things about /humans/ not knowing how to dance or why they danced and the end of the world and ashes and whatnot. And I asked her what tribe she was from, speaking of her native american ancestry, and she got a little wiggy. Too many coincidences. I /sensed/. Shifter. Not tainted. Not a garou. Not something I'd seen before. Greaaaaaat. Then Val showed up. I tipped her off after she did Mind Speech with me. Val checked her out. Said she's probably a were-Lynx, called Qualmi, and might be cat-born. Trixie left before we did anything else. Val says they're much more riddlers than they are fighters, but all shifters are better fighters than Joe Human.
Val said she'd mention her being here to Karuvar. I'm a little hesitant because Karuvar.... Well, he's a hedonist extraordinaire and that might be serving Trixie up to him on a silver platter--and Trixie might value her privacy rather than.... But you know what? None of that is my business. Not one bit. Let the cats sort it out amongst themselves.
Val and I talked a bit longer. I gave her an update on my progress with prepping for a back-through-time mind meld. I also told her my concerns about The Nothing being able to detect someone looking through time into the past and then staging an attack in the present. Asked Val if, when the time came, she'd stand guard outside my cabin. I'm hoping I can score Emma, Salem, Mouse, and/or Silvertip to stand guard inside. Just in case.
Right. Let's do the sensory deprivation on LSD experience now and see how that works out.
