Rina passed along a metric ass-load of data from her having driven around the city with that contraption I'd rigged up earlier this summer: a trio of cameras lashed into a notebook computer and a smartphone that did nothing but look at the screengrabs taken, rip through the images with pattern recognition software I'd cobbled together, and then link any detected spiral graffiti to GPS coordinates on a Google map of the area. I pulled all that data into my laptop at the house, linked the output to my two HDTVs, and started looking for patterns within the GPS-based distribution of these spiral glyphs. I broke out my Magic 8-ball, some Entropy, and several pots of coffee to facilitate my attempt at seeing a pattern. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. And then, courtesy of my Entropy-enhanced senses, I saw.... I'm not sure exactly what I saw, and I'm not sure I can verbally explain it. It's tesseract-esque. Beyond just three dimensions. It's like a semi-living, semi-geometric /something/ that makes my head hurt looking at it, thinking about it, or attempting to describe it. And it makes me feel /angry/ and /violent/ for some reason.
4th, 5th, 6th, 12th dimensional mathematical concepts? I can handle that stuff. Hell, I've even made objects that can't technically exist in three-dimensional space. This is.... something different. Maybe a huge ritual of some kind? Intended to bridge one reality with the other? Or bring a new realm closer to this one? Like a 2nd umbra, except not an umbra per se--more like.... something full of violence and anger.
Perhaps the key to getting a better idea as to what this is is to look at the ritual that seems to be going on instead of trying to figure out what the ritual result is supposed to be. I'd like to go look at one of the glyphs that seems more important, geometrically, than most of the others. I'm particularly curious if the more critical glyphs might be a potential source for tass.
