I sent word to Mouse, Salem, Slug, Emma, Val, and Silvertip that I'd planned to re-occupy the Walker's abandoned tenement building, prepare a warded area to protect against scrying (in the hopes that the Queen's nephadus mage who is shielding the upper levels of the Tower is of roughly equal power to me and won't just knock it down or bypass it), and use that as a staging area for when the call comes in to assassinate that guy. I'll countermagick the mage from afar, to the best of my abilities, to protect the garou when they attack. And if the mage does track things back to me at the tenement, I've asked that maybe one other garou I know be physically present as a bodyguard--just in case. And if we can get out of there fast enough and the mage pings the location the countermagick was coming from, maybe they'll send forces into the tenement building: bait for a long-unused trap.
Sunday morning I had an urge to look at books and get coffee, and I've since learned that I need to sometimes indulge these urges as they are occasionally subtle communications from my avatar, Mr. Abernathy. I went to Dark Wine and Roses and indulged in a coffee in the cafe. Andrea turned up and joined me. She'd just recently auditioned for American Idol and made it through the first round of elimination, so she has a bit of fame lingering about her, she's not liking it so much, and she seems certain she got lucky and won't progress much further. I gave her what advice I could, and then we were joined by Amy (a police officer who works in traffic/parking violations), who shared additional advice and mentioned that a firefighter in Hanford had been irradiated. At first I was worried this was some consequence of my having recently manipulated radioactive forces, as the timing was too much of a coincidence to ignore. It turns out it was a mix-up where equipment from Hanford had been shipped to the fire station without being properly examined, so those firefighters who were affected.... Thank god it wasn't me, and thankfully the level of irradiation seems to be relatively minor. But I'd been concerned enough about it that I faked a call to myself to give me an excuse to leave and investigate via some web surfing.
Note to self: Check with Terminus about any kind of internship they might have for Andrea, who's looking for career options (and likely needs a mentor who can guide her into the business world). Or see if anyone has any connections at WWNP's ranger station.
Monday, I dropped by the caern again as Brings-the-Pack, looking to meditate and observe the quirks of the caern's energies as the moon grew fuller--something I've never really examined before. There does seem to be a lot more spiritual activity, though that could be an isolated event and an inaccurate conclusion as I have only that one reference point. Felix showed up and we chatted a little. I pretended to not know him and got him to re-introduce himself to me. Brom then showed up and yelled at Felix for smoking in the caern. This seems to be linked in with his new role as a guardian, which he seems to take seriously (maybe overly so judging by Felix's reactions) but perhaps is not entirely supportive of. Val and Thane then showed up, and I info-dumped him about there being a powerful warper in Hanford, how he'd likely exposed a BSD pregnant with Ghost to The Nothing, and how it'd been intended to yield a vaccine of sorts--highly experimental--and that it appears Ghost's blood was rendered more potent by infusing it with gnosis (according to what Emma and Val had told me earlier, though I have no idea how this is done by the garou). Thane immediately assumed that this vaccine would work by delivering it into the Nothing, but I pointed out that it's all experimental and that perhaps it needs to be administered to the garou who wanted to attack the Nothing--it might be defensive rather than offensive.
I also mentioned that dreamwalking Ghost might prove to be beneficial, as she may have access to subconscious ancestral memories that better explain what is going on. And cautioned that Ghost may need someone with a delicate touch, and I offered my assistance, if needed, for the dreamwalking, but only if Ghost gave her consent and with the understanding that I would wake her when she requested it. It turns out that Alicia (who does not like me) may be the only garou who knows Dreamwalking. Maybe it might be best to not help on this endeavor.
I feel like I need to examine both the sample of the Nothing that I have as well as Ghost's blood, especially when infused with the Nothing. If this is the key to the 10th (or zero-ith) sphere of magick, I should spend time examining it and looking into it as much as possible. This is knowledge that may be critical to mages' understanding of magick itself, and it may open all kinds of new possibilities for influencing reality beyond what we currently know.
