I returned to Edgewood with a couple bags of groceries (junk food always seems to go over well, especially with the younger garou) and the comic books Harper requested. I was hoping to run into more garou and collect their visions, but I got seriously sidetracked. There was another garou present--an athro!!!--who was teaching Harper about the Children of Gaia. The Impergium. How the garou used to hunt and cull the humans until then. How this caused humans to fear the garou, to go crazy, to often forget or explain away the sight of a crinos. The Delirium.  Then Sue showed up with a new face: Black. Alex Black. Dark-Star-Still-Burning. She's a cub, but in search of a tribe, and clearly knows a little something about the garou. She also seems like she's teetering on the brink of losing control. Anger. Rage. I don't think hanging around her--particularly alone--is a good idea. In fact, Topsy almost immediately positioned herself between Black so as to impede Black's access to both Harper and me until she seemed satisfied we would be reasonably safe. Sue seems to be claiming responsibility for her, so that's something. I wonder if she'll end up a Fury? She reminds me of Ex a little, but not as totally fucked up in the head. (I wish Salem'd given me permission to poke around in her head to see what was up and if there might be a way to fix her, but he said not to.)

Sue made me jump at one point. He used some magic--it wasn't directed at me, but it still caught me off-guard. I nearly spilled my drink. Belatedly I recognized the feel of it. It was the exact same kind of magic he'd used earlier in the tenement when we'd first met. A mix of Spirit a dash of Entropy. Sensing. Over an area. A scan of some kind, probably for this Wyrm thing, which--thank god--I apparently don't register on. Probably something Sue habitually does, so I'll definitely be on the lookout for it in the future.

Sue later performed a ritual on Black's clothes, and then the clothes changed size to fit to her when she shifted. They called it "Dedication." Interesting. So that's why their clothes don't get shredded to bits when they shift and why they resonate as being attuned to the wearers.

I left afterwards and went back to my Winnebago in the WWNP campgrounds to read the Star Wars comics I'd found in the comic book store the other day while picking up Harper's stuff. Craptastic stuff from the early to mid 80s. Soooo bad. Nothing interesting. So then I spent the afternoon running. Parkour. In the park. Not too far from the campgrounds, as I've already run into a Red Talon /inside/ the campground. I saw a rattlesnake on the path!!! I touched its mind and got it to move off the path and to go far away from any paths. Shouldn't be a problem again to any hikers who don't stray far from the trails. Felt damn good to stretch my legs and get great big lungfulls of fresh air, but touching the rattlesnake's mind left me with a.... "snakey feeling" in my head and a gross taste in my mouth. Bleh.
