Last night, on my way to scope out the cabin's occupants' dreams and nocturnal habits, I decided to grab some unhealthy food to drop off at Edgewood. I looked out the kitchen window and saw someone mucking about outside, so I went to check and see who/what it was. (Trying to not use magic around the garou is a pain.) Turns out to be a Wendigo ragabash cub named Samantha. The brother-sister twins Val drove out to Edgewood and then got two weeks suspension over? One of those. She's really not happy with her lot in life, seemed to be blaming Val for that, and mentioned having learned the brawling/fighting skills to hurt her. I played it cool, then left Val a cautionary voice mail--in the event she checks it before coming back. Hope she comes back eventually, at least.
Turns out that there's a couple living in the cabin. He's afraid of mice and rats. She's afraid of spiders. This is going to be a piece of cake.
I headed to St. C. the next morning. Ran into Moros in the park. Ex is with the Furies and seems to be doing better. Moros is training her, and she's not made a lot of friends. (I doubt Moros had to train her in that, though. Buh-dum-dum!) Moros left. I got to talking with Thomas (who'd also showed up) about the Beast Courts. Seems that there's some sort of social contract for these courts, one of which was essentially "Don't tell other people how to do their jobs." Good advice. Offer to help, sure. That'd be far more polite anyway. Thomas says he's been to a coupe beast courts. I may have to pick his brain, because they sound interesting.
Keir showed up and the topic shifted to Baukhain. Neither Thomas nor Keir seemed impressed with her, and both thought she was arrogant. Thomas suggested she wasn't arrogant with me because there was no need to assert herself over a mere kinfolk. He's got a point. Also, when I mentioned maybe finding her some land adjacent to mine, Thomas warned me that the cats can be incredibly nosey: I pointed out that I was friends with a Corax.
I said my farewells and went to meet up with a loan officer at the local bank. They're running the numbers to see how much of a mortgage I qualify for, so I'll be pre-approved for an amount. Afterwards, I took a nap in the car: exhausted from the long night. I'm going to have to make a good stock pick or two in the next month to see if I can generate some extra money to spend on property.
Fired off a check and the requisite documents to incorporate the VisionAire shell company in Delaware after my nap The ball is officially rolling for the WEEV project.
After the nap, I went to the tenement to drop off supplies. Flint was there and we talked a bit. I asked if he'd show me some of the garou glyphs and explain their meaning, and that turned into a lesson on garou glyphs. Interesting stuff. Intriguing though as I can't read them even when I'm using Mind magic and Dreaming. I think there's a 'supernatural barrier' of sorts.
Off to go give the cabin's occupants some spooks before bedtime. I think I'll open with a couple "did I just see a...?" mental tweaks before bed, then usher in a nightmare or three. Nothing over the top: just enough to cause fitful sleep and make them edgy/irritable tomorrow.
