Wisconsin. Good lord, dull. So far. We'll see what pans out in the long haul, though. Bringing Mouse along is probably going to be great for Emma, but.... kind of a cock block, y'know? Plus side? It's given me a lot of time to do work for Terminus (and my own stock portfolio), so that's good. Slow and steady wins the race (and keeps prying Technocrat eyes away). I've also been doing a lot of thinking about magic and computers. It occurs to me that using Forces and Mind magic to emulate a computer is--just one way, really. Computers are binary--yes or no. Applying Forces at the right moments can force a yes or no response out of a computer. It's blunt and unsophisticated, but sometimes there's a certain utility to using the sledgehammer instead of the delicate gem-cutting chisel.

The other day, as I was about to put some distance myself from Emma (the moon was getting into the halfway phase--best to not loiter near an ahroun), we went out for lunch. While waiting for the food to come, I got this sensation of something I hadn't felt before. Correspondence and Spirit magic directed my way, but weak and subtle. Given more time, I suspect I'd have pinged it for what it was: a tracking spell being used by a spirit. Val's little stormcrow buddy. (I just do not trust that thing.) Emma and I and it ended up in an alleyway, where it then informed me that Val'd succeeded in besting the buzzards she'd been after in Spokane, but now she was tracking a group of fomori--and her cover'd been blown, so she was laying extra low. (Apparently so low that she's not been using her phone. Odd.) Told the spirit to tell Val I'd already gotten Riley prepped and that she could likely wrangle her pack up to ruin their day on short notice. The spirit left and Emma gave me... Well, it's unusual for a kin to have spiritual connections, I suspect. Might have aroused Emma's suspicions a little bit, even though I passed it off on Val and I being close friends. Dammit.

After putting in a call to Riley to tell her what was up, I caught the last flight into St. Claire that night. Taxi ride to the park first so I could just sit, think, meditate, and center myself. Didn't work out that way. Some kid from Scotland was there and I ended up chatting with him for a bit. I ended up headed back to the tenement and went straight to bed. Crash. Goddamn LOLcat decided that was the moment to show affection: He clawed at me through the blanket most of the night. I finally got some rest after I gave him a mental suggestion that there was a mouse in the living room. I need to remind myself why the hell I have this cat again.

Oh, right. Val dropped him off and said she'd eat him if I didn't want him. Goddamn cat. Goddamn bird.
