Monday night I did a little grocery cheating, used some Entropy, and found a grocery store that had a killer deal on frozen pizzas. Discontinued. Buy one at regular price and get two for free. I cleaned them out and took the haul to the farmhouse. The werewolves seem to like frozen pizzas. Ran into Val--hauling venison--on the porch. Emma was inside (YAY!) and Duke joined later. (There's still something a little unnerving about that cub. Maybe Emma can fix him?) Lots of talk happened.
The garou are trying to track down either a Spiral or one of their own who has been eating people--killing them, using a Bone Gnawer gift to reduce them into an edible paste, and then eating them.
There's plans underway to tackle both Worm--the Hollow Man--and the roboroach toy store. They're leaning towards tackling Worm first, and I encouraged that by mentioning how I'd hacked his bank account re-routed funds to charities, and that acting sooner rather than later might result in some of those donations sticking. (I'd rather see the roboroach problem handled first, but I'm hoping that some or all of the Glass Walkers will get back in town for that fight--it makes the tribe look bad if there's a problem with umbral roaches being hijacked by the Weaver and no Walkers from the tribe turn up for that fight.
Tuesday night I met up with Naomi at the Rat and Raven to drop off a talen sent by Mouse to the safehouse via courier. (In other words, an anti-scrying wonder I put together to replace the dying one I had Salem put on her a month ago when I'd wrecked the magic some other mage had laid on her.) Val showed up and made grabby-hands at the dead wonder. Huh. Hadn't thought about it at the time, but maybe Val is keen on sailing under the radar what with those BSDs that were just in town looking to capture her?
I dropped by the Farmhouse on Thursday morning to dump off some supplies. Ran into Emma (yay!) and Samantha. Emma'd baked choc. chip cookies. Pretty good, too! Mentioned to Samantha that if she needed money she could come work for me if she had Questing Stone or Sense of the Prey. She didn't seem interested. Ah, well.
Friday I was supposed to pick up Emma, do lunch, and go hang at my place. Not telling her about me was driving me nuts--especially ever since Valentine's Day when I swung by with presents and her mom invited me to hang out with her and Zoe while Emma was out in the woods. I don't feel right hanging around her mom or her kid without Emma not knowing I'm a warper. I'd checked the day before with my Magic 8-ball to see if it was a good idea revealing myself to her. It was a little indecisive, but seemed to lean towards it being okay. Way better than what it was about a year or so ago when I'd checked. So I didn't clean up the cabin before she came over. I left all the chalk markings Ciuraq had made out in the open. I told her I worked with magic. I told her I hadn't told her because I thought she was looking for 'normal'--and that I was pretending at being normal for her. It.... did not go terribly well. She stormed off into the woods. I suppose that's better than other alternatives, but still. It sucks. I think she's pissed off I didn't tell her a lot sooner. That others knew and hadn't told her. I pointed out that the garou tend to kill things that are different--even other shifters. (Hello, War of Rage.) But.... Hell. I fired off an e-mail to Val, Mouse, Salem, and Riley letting them know what was up and that Emma might be pissed at me/them--or possibly outting me to the rest of the sept. Then I grabbed LOLCat, tossed him in the Winnebago, and headed out. Maybe the shit will hit the fan. Maybe it won't. Either way, I'm not going to stand under the fan waiting to see what happens. The 8-ball says to go south. South it is.
Oh, man. I hope Val doesn't try to step in and fix things. She tends to make stuff even worse.
