Yesterday I graced Edgewood with a food run. Afterwards, I had a compulsion to go out into the meadow behind the house, out to the small pond. My mind was dwelling on Baukhain and the time I was out here with her and Thomas and she shifted forms and /damn/ tigers are big--but she still let me pet her, which was pretty cool. I can't decide which is scarier: petting a tiger or petting a weretiger. I think petting  tiger is scarier because it's more dangerous because it's a wild animal and thus unpredictable, whereas the weretiger still has a human mind at the steering wheel, even if the weretiger is certainly more powerful than a mere tiger.

That's when Emma called out and I realized, while thinking about weretigers and my past experience with them, I'd let my mind wander freely and I'd ended up swinging on the old rope swing out by the pond without even realizing it. We chatted for a bit. The fuller moon seems to have taken ages to cycle for both of us. Ky turned up--I still get a crawling sensation up my spine with Shadow Lords (and that might be a good thing)--and he and Emma talked about the upcoming umbral raid they're planning on doing on that toy store that's been selling robo-roach kits. I pitched to have Clare or Riley along just so there's a Walker present. It makes the tribe look bad/negligent if no Walker shows up to help deal with Weaver-corrupted roach spirits. (I texted Clare and Riley with Emma's number hoping to get a family member involved.) Emma seems to be concerned about the potential for the spider spirits to calcify them in the umbra. (I'm not sure if I can do anything about that?) Ky also mentioned there were banes about the area, but not doing anything. (I'm concerned they might cause trouble once the garou start fighting the spiders--or after they've finished cleaning out the spiders when the garou are weakened from the fight. Maybe I could distract the banes outside? I don't know.)

When the meeting broke up, I took Emma to the city. We got lunch, ran a few errands, and I picked up a trio of rental SCUBA tanks. (Told Emma "Don't ask." Got a bit of a look, but she didn't ask!) Dropped her off back at Edgewood and went home.

I had an interesting idea from the last time I was in the umbra and played around with linking a portal between a point under an umbral river and the clearing--matter and pressure were preserved through the portal, creating a fire hose type effect. Does it work with other things? I can't see why it wouldn't. And pressurized air is safe enough to work with.

I took all three of the SCUBA tanks outside. Bled Tank #1 down from 3000 PSI to 100 PSI. Took some time--and backed away from the tank and took cover behind a tree--and linked a point just outside the tank's nozzle with a point inside the tank, all the while tying in Matter and Forces. *HUFF!* Tank fell over from the sudden release of air.

Next up, I bled Tank #2 down from 3000PSI to 2800PSI while leaving Tank #3 at 3000 PSI. Linked up Location, Forces, and Matter between the interior of Tank #2 with Tank #3. There was a muffled whoosh of rapidly equalizing air within the two tanks. Each tank was at roughly 2900 PSI. Exellent!

Last up? I took Tank #2 and linked a point within it and just out in the air (again with Forces and Matter worked in). FABOOM! Damn, that was loud. Rattled the windows in the cabin and I thought they might have broken, too. My ears are ringing a little. Wow.

Quitting for now ( no need to tap Tank #3), but this does lend proof-of-principle to an idea I had involving Correspondence, Matter, Forces, and a propane tank. Every wizard worth his salt needs to be able to hurl a fireball, right? Three 20lb tanks stashed out in the woods on my property ought to give me ample pre-stored propane at my beck and call.
