Monday night, full moon out, I arranged to meet up with Salem so I could talk with Sagacity's pack totem--a Chimera spirit. Interesting spirit. Humanoid. Feminine physique that seemed to change slightly over time. All reflective mirror-like shards put together. Very dynamic. I wonder if I should be reading something into all the potential metaphors?
The meeting went well. I gave The Oracle a 10x10x10 Rubik's cube. Chimeras are all about enigmas, so I figure she'll solve it in a couple minutes, but it's the thought that counts. I hope? Anyway, I laid the groundwork for a future discussion about the black ooze and then I asked about being granted her blessing to try tapping in to the pack communication magic (or do spirits call them charms or powers--I need to ask Kargamis again) the spirit enabled them with. She agreed. I gathered my wits about me, got a feel for the ebb and flow of the spiritual energies that extended beyond the spirit's form itself, and grasped a thread to tap into. Success! I was chatting with Sagacity. Or, rather, Emma and Salem, who seemed to "have their ears on" at the time. I didn't try any of the more radical things I'd been contemplating doing as a means of disrupting a BSD pack's communication network or turning it against them, not with it being a full moon and approaching Salem's bed time.
I need to get him a "GET OFF MY LAWN!" doormat.

You paged (Salem, Emma) with 'Pack Chat> "One small step for a wizard, one giant leap for spirit-based communications."'.
To (Nicodemus, Emma), Salem pages: Pack Chat> "We'll make a Garou of you yet, Dalton."
You paged (Emma, Salem) with 'Pack Chat> "I've actually got some ideas on that, Salem. For faking it, at least. But that's an experiment for some other time. However, I think I've just demonstrated that I can tap into a Spiral pack's secure communications. Keep that in mind if you plan on going up against any of them. I'd test out my other theory--about using a pack's communication network and flooding it with distracting noises, images, and emotions--but not on a full moon.'.
To (Nicodemus, Emma), Salem pages: Pack Chat> "New moon or crescent, agreed."
To (Salem, Nicodemus), Emma pages: Pack CHat> Um. Is it just me, or is that Nick?
You paged (Emma, Salem) with 'Pack Chat> "Hello, Emma. It's Nick. Just had a nice chat with The Oracle about letting me do a little experiment. It seems to have worked. So.... How're things?"'.
To (Salem, Nicodemus), Emma pages: Pack Chat> What the... how? How are you even? Is this all the time?
You paged (Emma, Salem) with 'Pack Chat> "You get only one guess for the 'how.' And no, it's not permanent. Although I suppose I might be able to make it last a while if I were to infuse the.... Sorry. I'm rambling."'.
To (Nicodemus, Emma), Salem pages: Pack Chat> "Ramble away. I'm going to grab some sleep. Do go to a private line if you're planning anything /personal/, all right?" His tone's amused.
Nicodemus spends some time toying around with pack chatting in The Oracle's presence. Once he's finished, later that night, he thanks her once again for the experience, and then he takes flight into the umbral sky to do other wizardly things.
To (Salem, Nicodemus), Emma pages: Pack Chat> "I can't ever guess your how's, but this is crazy. You're in just like the rest of us are? Thoughts, communication, feelings?" There's a rush of quick embarassment at Salem's teasing, "What? Good lord no..."
You paged (Salem, Emma) with 'Pack Chat> "You've got channels? And it's also a pre-established network for emotions? Oh, I am definitely going to have to look into weaponizing this against packed Spirals."'.
To (Salem, Nicodemus), Emma pages: Pack Chat> Not ... channels, really, I dunno! I've never tried a channel. There's never been reason to! You can block it sometimes. Like, a mental poker face?
You paged Emma with 'Pack chat> "Oh, so you can shut it down at the end if you want to. Kind of like when someone uses the Mind Speech gift on you and you don't want the nuisance of it or don't care for it?"'.
Emma pages: Pack Chat> "I guess? I mean, not all the way off, but sort of um, ya know I don't really know. I just know that after some practice, you're private stuff can be kept private. Well except for like panic and rage and stuff. That usually gets felt across the link no matter what."
You paged Emma with 'Pack Chat> "Probably best to save further experimenting with that sort of thing for when it's not getting on towards Salem's bedtime and the moon is nice and slender and everyone has some advance notice. Thanks, everyone, for putting up with me. Take care, and good night." There's no indication that he left or if he's still around and listening.'.
