Tuesday, I called Slug up--he'd called me the night before. We chatted about Val for a bit. I think we're both finding her to be a little more reckless that she'd been. Perhaps hormones? Slug seemed to be making an explosive for Val--retaliation for whatever'd been in the warehouse getting the drop on her, we both decided. I also told him I'd gotten into his pack chat line via The Oracle's blessing. He'd been asleep.
I cut things short as I needed to get cracking on a ritual to thin the gauntlet outside my house down to nothing so I could step through and sneak in a second night of poking around in the umbra. I think I had a wild hair as I did some flying, ended up perched atop some tall spire-like structure in town, and watched as a small group of garou tangled with some ugly-looking spirits. No clue what was going on or if they were hunting them (or vice versa) or just stumbled across one another. Regardless, a fight broke out. One of the spirits was getting away, so I lobbed liquified fire at it. Done. The fight was pretty much done then--I was hesitant to use Forces magic for fear of inadvertently hitting an ally--and everyone went their own way. Slug was hurt, but not critically.
I left the area by flying off in one direction, and then later changing my flight path to go home. Three hours to open up the portal back to the realm. Two hours to spare before sunrise. Cut that a little close, Nick.
