nick_garou | A chat with Val--bullet points about Ghost and the Ooze

Had a chat with Val today, and these were the highlights of our discussion:

* Some spirits (like lunes) behave differently during different moon phases. Lunes are more prone to telling jokes and lightheartedness during the new moon, but more prone to attacking randomly during a full moon.

* Val infused Ghost's blood with gnosis in the realm, not the umbra. It should make no difference if it were infused in the umbra or the realm.

* Val said infusing Gnosis into something is not a big deal, but it tends to leak out rapidly unless bound up somehow (like making a talen or feeding a spirit).

* Val said Ghost's uninfused blood did very little ("crap all") against the ooze.

* Val has never tried cramming gnosis into a human before. (Wonder what might happen? If anything? Surely someone has tried it in the past.) She expects it would do nothing and leak out almost immediately.

* Curiously, when Val infused Ghost's blood with gnosis, it retained the gnosis and never seemed to lose it.

* The ooze does not seem to actively avoid Ghost's empowered blood, so it might not work as some kind of ooze shield/repellent.

* Val is curious as to making some kind of talen/charm out of the blood, but did not have enough material on-hand to do so.

* Val gave some of Ghost's empowered blood to a guinea pig. It died. (Probably best to not inject anyone with this stuff, including garou, so it's not a traditional "vaccine" per se.) DO NOT SHARE THAT VAL DID THIS WITH THE GAROU.

* Emma was decontaminated from the ooze taint she'd acquired by mere skin contact with Ghost's blood, not empowered blood or injected blood. CONTRASTINGLY, the blood did nothing for Val until she empowered it with gnosis. (Is this because Ghost and Emma are garou but Val being a Corax was too great a difference?)

* These treatments where the ooze was removed seemed to have had some kind of transitive effect with Ghost, where she's starting to spook spirits in the umbra and look different in the umbra, too. (Is she turning into an echo or something similar? Is the "vaccine" imperfect in that it just slows down the ooze's tainting process? Is the exposure of her blood to the ooze causing her to become corrupted by proxy? Is using her blood going to kill/transform Ghost?)

* Is there a link between Ghost and the blade-armed thing? Is it her "evil twin" separated at birth? And that's why it seemed to be loitering at the bunker in Olympia?

* Ghost, when she first arrived in Saint Claire, said she was chasing after a metallic garou. Later, the memory she had of hunting down this metallic garou disappeared--and there was no caern where she said she'd come from. Something might have affected her mind to get her to come to and stay in Saint Claire. (Ubermage is my guess. Or some aspect of the ooze we don't understand yet?) What else was in her mind previously but later forgotten? Will a Dreamwalk help reveal these missing components?
