Paid a visit to the safehouse Saturday night to drop off a small stash of groceries and a copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops II for the xbox. Figure the younger garou might enjoy that, and I might squander a few hours on it myself once the novelty has worn off for the kids. Ran into Flint downstairs and.... You know, I hadn't entirely realized it beforehand, but I think I've been avoiding interacting with him ever since he frenzied on Salem, resulting in Salem frenzying on him, resulting in Mouse being further crippled than she already was. I think I blame him for Mouse's current condition--an indirect consequence of his actions, for sure, but still a consequence triggered by his actions. I'd forgotten to ask around about a reseller for his woodcraft item, and he seemed a little put out about that. Wah. I've been busy. I'll see what I can do when I have the time: it'll be easier do a deal with these samples he's produced, though. Half-tempted to say I couldn't find anything at all, but.... Damn, I /am/ a bit bitter. Ugh. Be nice, though. Keep being nice. He has a tendency to lose it and hurt people.

Ky showed up and I felt like a fifth wheel and was about to leave when Sewall turned up. I lingered, curious as to what would happen with a Silver Fang and a Shadow Lord in the same room. It wasn't that exciting, and Sewall was looking for Mouse, so I went up to see if she was in. Nope. Came back downstairs and Sewell said he was looking for a place to sleep, and Mouse had offered, so I temporarily loaned him mine. Elliot showed up and announced that he'd taken over as sept alpha from Silvertip. Interesting. Elliot at least has a cell phone, so that ought to bring the local sept's communication capacities out of the Dark Ages. I played at being a good host, making and serving up coffee to give myself an excuse to be there while Elliot and Sewall discussed chiminage (Wow, Sewall thinks pretty highly of himself intellect-wise), and Flint and Ky popped off to the basement to have a private talk about god knows what. Sewall mentioned that he'd assisted the Uktena in recovering a fetish that'd been lost prior to the arrival of the Europeans--I'll have to ask him about that story at some point, as I imagine it'd be interesting and educational.

After Elliot finished up, he told me that he'd talked with Kitty and Danny, and it looks like Danny'd had a run-in with a vampire. We debated if it was still even in the area (it'd be stupid, cocky, or ignorant of what it was up against if it was), and then Ky and Flint came back in, caught the tail end of the conversation, added to it a bit, and then mentioned that there was a gang in town that was drinking vampire blood. (Seriously? Why the hell would you drink vampire blood? Or blood? Ew.) Ky's apparently infiltrated the group and sampled the wares.
Too tired to drive home, so I slept in the Sanctum instead--after driving by the house we all used to live in until dad sold it a few years ago. Sad memories of times gone by. I still wonder how the old man is doing, but I've come to terms with the fact he just doesn't give a damn about me. Neither does mom--if she's even still alive. Yay, happy thoughts.
In the morning, I harvested some tass from the two city nodes and, later, Val came by Harbor Park. She discovered that one of the garou at the sept had recently returned from Erebus ("garou Hell where you swim in molten silver") and was wondering who she ought to tell about that. After she explained the cosmology/theologic implications, I told her that if she truly believed a garou emerges from Erebus with no hint in them of what got the there in the first place, and if she truly believed that those who are released are being given a second chance, then the past should remain--forever--forgotten in the past and Val should not mention her past to anyone--including me. But if she had any doubts, then someone who can do something needed to be told. For a moment, I thought her head might explode. We moved on to other topics and... Val took it to Awkward Land by hinting I ought to sleep over. I acted like I'd missed it, but.... Gah. I think she's still "dazzled" by me, but it'd never work.

Take-out sushi. Home. Fireplace. Cat. Slanket. Reading. I'm ready to write the whole day off.
