Ran into Val this morning at Edgewood. Or, rather, she dropped little tiny pebbles from a good thousand feet up and bounced them off the coffee mug I was holding at the time--out in the meadow near the pond. Didn't know what was going on at first, but by the time the second pebble hit, I spotted Val and knew what was up. Still? Damn impressive little trick. When she landed and changed, I asked her how much weight she could carry and drop. She figured 20-30lbs max. A bowling ball dropped from 1,000 feet is going to leave quite an impact. Also, Val says the accuracy is due to a gift, probably a Corax only gift, as I can't seem much practicality in "let's accurately drop something from way up high" for land-bound wolves. It sounds like it works by a blending of premonition (drop now!) and in-flight guidance. Easy enough to replicate the effect with low levels of Time and Forces.

Val and I then talked a little shop, which got around to the Truth of Gaia gift the philodox garou--and apparently Val--possess. Val thinks that's what Sue used on me the other day. Val said Truth of Gaia isn't always accurate: I pointed out that it might be better off renamed "Gaia's Best Guess." Val recommended I not ever mention that to any philodox. (I'll probably tell Salem anyway.) Long story short, Val agreed to let me sense what she felt when someone told truths, lies, and half-truths, that way I'd be able to tweak the feedback if it gets used on me again and, for whatever reason, I need to obscure a truth. (Fancy way of saying "lie" there, Nick.) Val's got a busy head--scattered and multi-tasking--and we only had time to do one truth before her phone rang. Someone had spotted Ila. We headed off to chase down the new mage.

We caught up with Ila on the 2nd story of Dark Wine and Roses. The meeting went pretty well. Cultist of Ecstasy and a bit of a neophyte, as Val suspected. She mentioned maybe hooking up with the Bone Gnawers and potentially plugging herself in with that tribe and maybe even revealing herself to them. I suggested that maybe she could reveal herself to one or two of the Bone Gnawers who were open-minded and pragmatic, then keep her a bit of a tribal secret. If it works, maybe Charley would be willing to do the same thing with the Silver Fangs (although that might be rough as their numbers seem pretty slim and that's a very conservative tribe). We could theoretically have a warper in three different tribes, getting information via the garou in these tribes, and then coordinating a cabal's worth of ritual magic in aid, for worthy causes, via a shadowy group of conspirators. It'd be nice to create another cabal. We traded phone numbers, so it'll be easier to contact one another in the future.

After the meeting, I had to run another errand: lunch with a businesswoman who runs a consignment specialty store that sells /practical/ works of art that are handmade. I got her to agree to sell Flint's boxes and cutting boards, and she wanted a surplus for the holiday season's last minute shoppers. I headed off to tell Flint the good news, then agreed to help him transport his wares to her store tomorrow morning. (He's getting paid under the table, so no taxes being reported there.) Hung around for a couple hours playing co-op missions with Flint in Black Ops 3. I think I've managed to bury the hatchet with being irritated at him for having further crippled Mouse.

On the way home, it started dumping buckets. I stopped by Edgewood to make sure Val hadn't gotten trapped in the farmhouse and offer her a ride if she had--I doubt she'd want to sleep in the barn with nearly a dozen garou. Nervous!!!! Ran into Reed in the kitchen making grilled cheese. Caught up on what all the Samantha-related fuss was about: not much honestly. But Samantha did seem to be acting up just a little, but she's also a ragabash, so--kind of expected.
