Dropped some groceries off at the tenement building, then loitered in the lobby area with my e-reader. Late in the evening, Sewall and Thomas showed up, together, Sewall looking exhausted but happy as they headed upstairs. (Yeah, I'd have had a totally different thought if they'd come from upstairs, together, looking like that.) Thomas came back down and told me that he an Sewall'd gone up to Oregon to visit that mokole that Val'd mentioned in connection with the lost Uktena shield fetish that'd resulted in Sewall's prior pack being slaughtered off. Apparently it's an old mokole and remembered Thomas from long ago. Thomas said they had to swim across a lake to get to it and he described it as being /exceptionally/ forgiving and generous: it gave Sewall some talens to use in his quest.
Thomas then apologized (but apparently only to me) for causing a bit of a scene the other night with Riley, and assured me he didn't frenzy/berserk like the garou--he just flees. I suggested he apologize to Riley instead of me, as he had struck her, without warning, and in the Walkers' safehouse--but nope. Nothing doing. If he keeps it up, he's going to get kicked out.
Thomas mentioned how he "hides his tail" from a lot of garou (which I can certainly understand) and how a Black Fury--Kathryn-Laura--seemed disappointed that she had no excuse to kill him.
I asked about the Wendigo cub who's life was hanging by a thread. Jacinta's not back yet, but there's talk of sending him to the Croatan homeland to see how empty it is. (Why not just send him to sit in an empty field for a week?) Aaanyway. It turns out that the cub is one of the twins Val scraped off the streets earlier--the cubnapping that pretty much cost her her job with the SCPD. I asked how Samantha was going to take it if her tribal elder killed her twin brother, and Thomas seems to think it'll be bad. Not that I suspect a young, trouble-prone cliath can do much about Jacinta; but it seems like the Wendigo are on ther verge of splintering and falling to pieces from within.
