I was at the Harbor Park node last evening, doing some meditation and harvesting some tass into a few "lucky pennies." Val turned up, in her raven form, shortly after I'd finished skimming off the node's excess energies. She's thinking about ditching her apartment for the upstairs over her coffee/game shop. Probably a good move on her part as it'll help her better keep tabs on her business, reduce what she's throwing at rent, and give her a little more privacy. She had to put soundproofing on the walls to keep the neighbors from hearing the ravens she adopted recently. I imagine it'd be "interesting" explaining why there's a freaking swarm of ravens in the place to the landlord.

We talked initially via that gift that Val and some of the Garou have--Mindspeak--while Val ate the snack pack of Cheetos I'd opened for her. I asked if the Cheetos tasted different when she was in raven form, and she said that they did. I mentioned how I'd once "rode" my cat's mind to see what it was like, and that he'd eaten some canned food at the time. My human brain processed the taste of the cat food (by proxy) as being disgusting, but I was also receiving feedback of enjoying the taste from the cat. It's a little weird when your tongue says "gross" but your brain is going "Yum!" Anyway, Val offered to let me share her headspace while she ate a few Cheetos, which was interesting. (Ravens seem to key in on the fat and salt, not so much the cheesy taste.) She then let me tag along for a wild ride of aerial acrobatics. It was both exhilarating and nauseating. Like skydiving on a rollercoaster in a giant, vibrating blender.

Oddly enough, after she left and I broke the link, I was starving and headed over to Garcia's to get a large pizza. (Clearly this was some kind of lingering resonance from riding Val's mind. Also, I have to admit, the effect I created was kind of sloppy: it lacked finesse. Maybe I need to work more at Mind magick? But doing so in an ethical manner can be challenging--especially if people are involved.) Ate until I was bloated, then took it home and picked at it off and on all night. Gone by this morning. I cannot believe I ate the whole goddamn thing. And a whole bag of chips. And a bag of microwave popcorn. The compulsion to eat seems to be gone now, but.... Is that how it is for all of the Corax? I imagine the huge volume of food consumption is a means of compensating for the high energy/metabolism requirements of flight. Interesting theory, but I'd need more than one data point to make anything of that hypothesis.
