I played video games until the sun came up Wednesday morning and I was falling asleep with the controller in my hands. Mindless digital violence seems to be my substitute for actual physical/magical violence.
I woke up at the crack of noon and headed out to the farmhouse with a load of staples: mac and cheese mostly. (Good deal on that at the store.) Spotted Thomas and Emma out back, so I went to have a chat with them. Topic of discussion? What to do about The Suits, especially since they abducted Naomi. It felt like we were going around in circles and getting nowhere, so I sat down and took a little time to work some ritual magic. Time and Entropy channeled through a Magic 8-ball simulator app on my phone.
QUESTION:
"Would rescuing Naomi from The Suits, as opposed to leaving her with The Suits, be the smarter course of action for the garou, in both a long- and short-term capacity?"
RESPONSE:
8-ball sez: WITHOUT A DOUBT
QUESTION:
"Should the garou try to sneak Naomi out quietly as opposed to going in prepared to do battle with The Suits?"
RESPONSE:
8-ball sez: MOST LIKELY
I communicated these responses to both Thomas and Emma, with the caveat that "the future is always in motion."
I'm also kicking myself because, earlier, when I'd gone to talk with Pavel for his advice, he basically told me to lay low and wait until The Suits got bored and left. And that WOULD be the best course of action--for me and me alone. I didn't tell Pavel that, hey, I'm semi-affiliated with a sept of werewolves and, btw, this question is more for them than me. So.... I ended up giving Salem bad advice.
I am surprised at how ashamed that makes me feel.
After I departed, I called up Salem and had a really obtuse conversation with him, in which I basically said this:
1) The mage who advised me to lay low until The Suits were gone had intended that advice specifically for me, not for me to give that as the advise intended for the garou. Therefore, the advice I gave you earlier to have the garou lay low was wrong.
2) I did some divination on my own and the garou need to rescue Naomi. Not rescuing her will cause more bad than good.
3) A second divination indicates the garou should use a stealthy, low-key approach in rescuing Naomi. Not a combat-focused one.
4) I am pretty sure I could teleport a small mirror in and out of wherever Naomi is being held, if an umbral extraction would be best.
